Presentations are usually defined as “ the bane of my academic existence.”

From your perspective, what is the most difficult thing when doing a presentation?

Presentations are usually defined as “ the bane of my academic existence.”

Too most presentations are an opportunity for one to show others your potential and value within an organization or institution. However for most presentation may be the perfect opportunity to present yourself as an inexperienced and incompetent employed with no people skills. From our educational career to our professional career presentations have been represented as a right of passage. For those who are conquers and slay the presentation dragon we usually gain positive recognition, respect from our peers and a sense of accomplishment but for those who return with third degree burns and our asses literally in out hands they usually receive the opposite. Everyone can agree to say that presentations are things in life that can go really awesome or really, really horrible. My personal experiences with presentations are usually not incredibly awful. As my academic career continues my presentation skill seem to sharpen. However my main problem in my presentation is usually the fact that I have to resist the erg to read exactly from the power point for the duration of the presentation. However I am aware of my problem so I do make extra effort to resist the temptation. Still wouldn’t life be so much easier if we could. But I can see how insignificant and boring that process is therefore it wouldn’t aid me in my goals to convince or communicate successfully with my audience. On the plus side the first step to fixing a problem is to acknowledge the problem. Hopefully presentation problems will be a thing of the past as I move to my occupational journey.
