Overall, this course has basically taught me 1) that as designer I too can and must carry myself and operate my business in a professional and dignified way; and 2) How to go about doing this, how to go about conducting the written & professional aspects of the design world.


I think coming into this field, I and many other people I assume, would have just thought that all there is to design work is that you meet with a client and then batch something up, but this course has taught me about the work that you must put into presenting yourself like a professional, working with others, how to communicate with other designers in a work atmosphere professionally, how to properly draft up a creative project in order to track it, and how to just be a professional and serious designer overall.

Certain things such as memos and proposals I've always heard of and figured that I'd know how to do them, but this course has exposed me to how to do these things properly.

Overall this course shows that even in the design field, contrary to popular belief, there is a seriousness, a respect, a professionalism, a structure, and an order in how to do things professionally, and that the field is one worthy of respect.

I am grateful to have been able to do this course and thank my lecturer Ms. Chevers Whyte for her teaching.
