Blog #9 Emotional Intelligence. why?


#9 Is it important to practice Emotional Intelligence when conducting business communication? Why?

It is very important to practice emotional intelligence when conducting business because of the variables involved in business decision making which is not limited to external conditions but happen to include personal egos, feelings and emotions as well.


Keeping these emotions in consideration can make for effective communication within and outside of an organization and help them in the long run. Emotional intelligence is identifying behaviour and attitudes, separating them form yourself and the ability then to correctly make decisions. Disregarding the emotions of others can lead to distrust and ineffective communication and ultimately poor attitudes and behaviour.
