One of the most important things that has been reinforced in my mind is that you don't have to be the best designer in the world to climb up the long ladder filled with snakes and traps. In fact there is always two sides to a coin not inclusive of the the edge.
Designing doesn't just end with an artwork but there are always other factors to consider such as the writing aspect, you can be a talented designers, but what would these designers be without there agents or managers who maximize there product to get the best possible result. In fact packaging and presentation plays an important role to getting more opportunities out there and understanding these things will ultimately give you an edge over your competitors.

Blog #9 That's just emotions.
We all have them, it is what makes us human, yes, most of the things we do are governed by our emotions, they shape or very actions, it's why we have sex without condoms, why we buy expensive things we tell ourselves we need and why we act the way we do, in fact it is the very reason the world is the way it is, selfish and full of hate and greed, or maybe not.Indeed emotions can lead us to make rash decisions if not kept in check.
In truth emotions can both be a good thing and a bad thing and plays a factoring role in the rise and falls of empires. Hence the reason why taking ones emotions into consideration is very important, especially in a business institution consisting of various numbers of group dynamics. Taking emotions into consideration will result in better communication as you yearn to understand not just yourself as an individual but others around you.
Emotions once understood and kept in check can result in a long lasting business institution and partnership with anyone it comes in contact with.

Blog #8 Culture
Culture is considered to be the given language a people might use to communicate with each other which is solely made up of signs and symbols, in which artwork just so happens to fall under as it is considered a form of communication as it expresses ideas and shares information.
Taking culture into consideration while doing an artwork is rather important because it expresses some sort of message in which culture is used to decode the message the art work may represent. Designing an artwork with a particular culture in mind will result in the artwork being more meaningful as it connects with the audience in their given context on the other hand, If the culture is not taken into consideration it may results in miss-communication and misunderstanding which might result in an unfavorable result and who know's it could cause riots and possibly trigger world war.
enjoy.

Blog # 7To Brief or Not To Brief.
I am no Shakespeare but i'm pretty sure to brief is the route all designers should take when doing any assignments, no matter how time consuming it may appear to be.
The creative brief is a process or structure in which an assignment or design will be carried out, which forms the foundation for your creative process. Think of it this way, having a creative Brief allows you to know what exactly what your going to do, leaving the guess work for those "wanna be" designers who absolutely have no process or even know what a creative brief looks like, and NOO!!it doesn't look like a suit cause, but really what does one look like.
Having a creative brief gives you the power to see into the future (not really) but allows you to discovers more on your topic or assignments taking into consideration your target audience and their needs and what might be more appeasing to them. Overall Having a creative brief allows to you to work a lot fasting as it acts as an outline for your given task.

Blog #6 My Weakness
Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Bob Marley, and other notable figure all had something in common, they were all great presenters of there craft, but what most person don't know is that, the skill of presenting to a large audience isn't a skill we are born with, while other may be gifted with a powerful voice, a calm spirit while presenting is a skill we all have to learn and come with time and practice like most other skills.
With that said one of the most difficult task while giving a presentation is maintaining composer. After introducing my name and my topic all the thoughts and ideas that i have instilled in my head suddenly goes gushing out into the universe. Maintaining composer is very important but when lost, results in me getting panic attacks, slurring of word, loss of eye contact which results in an overall and completed embarrassment on my on my part.
One way to over come this though is having a little notepad so you can keep track of your ideas so you always maintain that composer and still have time to give you audience some eye contact.

Blog #5 I Propose to you.
We do it all the time, we propose new ideas to our friends, we propose which football team, movie, games are better and also we propose to people, many to the opposite sex, some to the same. The end result is always the same we are basically asking for approval or giving our opinion weather asked or not. It's the same in the business arena, They are just called much more fancier names. Solicited and Unsolicited proposals along with Internal and External Proposals, I propose we move on you really don't have i choice i'm still going to type away.
Unsolicited proposal's involves a person taking that bold initiative to present an idea to a client or person you are seeking to do business with, without being asked. "I can make it better."
On the flip side a solicited proposal is where the client peruses you instead requesting you for your details. Its almost like when that dream girl asks you for your number *Bang* *Bang*"Mind blown" you didn't even see it coming.
Unlike the unsolicited and solicited proposal "Internal and External proposals focuses and targets inside and an organization as the name suggests "INTERNAL" where "EXTERNAL" focuses on outside business.
Overall all these proposals do the same thing but they just target different people. In business you are well armed with the weapons to do some damage making the with choices and playing the right card is what it all comes down to. "Checkmate"
Blog #4 "It will all count for Nothing"
What good is some ones work if he/she never finishes or completes it.( i'm not talking about sex for you pervs). Completing your task is very important, as doing this process allows you to add all finishing touches to your masterpiece, taking into consideration all the steps you have done previously. Tying all those loose end together will leave with you with end result you always wanted, leaving you with a magnificent piece of work. In the end though if you never complete you task all that hard work and time will all just count for naught.
Blog #10 what I picked up
#10 Name at least 1 thing that you believe you have learnt in
this class.
MDIA2002 has taught me many things, one of which is ‘design
doesn’t start in adobe illustrator but ends there.’ Writing the approach for
the design, seeking its approval and the executing that idea is more inline
with the standards of a proper approach to design. The most important thing i've learned from this class is that PRESENTATION make up a fair potion of our final grade.
Therefore Present PRESENT PrEsEnT.... i will carry this with me throughout my professional life. Presentation is not only key to communicating a message, but a well thought out presentation is the best way to leave a good impression with employers or perspective clients.
its not what you say, its generally how you say it.
Blog #9 Emotional Intelligence. why?
#9 Is it important to practice Emotional
Intelligence when conducting business communication? Why?
It is very important to practice emotional intelligence when
conducting business because of the variables involved in business decision
making which is not limited to external conditions but happen to include
personal egos, feelings and emotions as well.
Keeping these emotions in consideration can make for
effective communication within and outside of an organization and help them in
the long run. Emotional intelligence is identifying behaviour and attitudes,
separating them form yourself and the ability then to correctly make decisions.
Disregarding the emotions of others can lead to distrust and ineffective
communication and ultimately poor attitudes and behaviour.
Blog #8 Why would you take into consideration culture when developing your artwork?
#8 Why
would you take into consideration culture when developing your artwork?
Art is an avenue for expression of culture, as such the same way
cultures differ and have similarities, so does artwork. Consideration of these
differences and similarities are important because in conveying meaning and
understanding misrepresenting or miscommunication can occur causing the
intended message to be lost.
I would take culture into considered as to better connect to the
target audience and as a result connect them with the product and the intended
message can be achieved.
Culture may even be
described simply as that which makes life worth living.T. S. EliotNotes Towards a Definition of Culture(1948)
Blog #7 What is a creative brief and why is it important?
#7 What is a creative brief and why is it important?
A creative brief is a document where information essential to
creating a product that reflects the brands identity and conveys the message
intended.
It is important to the overall production process because it
illuminates a certain amount of guesswork or personal bias by designers to get
an overall comprehensive outcome. If
conducted correctly it can outline and provide a framework for the designers to
work within. This would include colour scheme, size or dimensions, target
audience, feeling evoked and many other factors which would make up the end
product. Having these things accounted for before any clicks and anchor points
inserted can save time and effort, very precious commodities for producing
creative and comprehensive designs.
Blog #6 what is the most difficult thing when doing a presentation?
#6 From your perspective, what is the most difficult thing when
doing a presentation?
In conducting a presentation, there many things that you have
to keep in consideration like ones composure; the audience; anxiety from not
eating; and most important from my perspective the most difficult part of
presenting is whether or not you’re being understood.
Nodding in agreement isn’t an exact indicator on whether or
not your presentation was effective. Sometimes taking a moment to find out if
you’ve lost anyone is good, but you can for sometimes confidently proceed based
on the knowledge you already possess and not consider that the main objective
is to relay a particular message.
communicating the message is the ultimate purpose of presenting, being understood therefore is most important.
